In a sizable boost to the local economy, Concord is set to welcome an increase in travel options and employment opportunities as Avelo Airlines expands its operations at the Charlotte-Concord Airport. The airline recently revealed plans for a new base which will include two additional aircraft and introduce nonstop services to Daytona Beach, Florida, and Nashville, Tennessee, as per information from WSOCTV.
The burgeoning presence of Avelo in the region signals a boon for Concord's air travel, with the company now set to deliver nine nonstop destinations with fares starting under $50, some even as low as $44, according to a QC News report. Avelo Airlines aims to enhance what it dubs the "fast and easy, small hometown airport experience" as an alternative to the bustling CLT, and this initiative will reportedly create upward of 55 new jobs, broadening their economic and employment influence in the City of Concord and Cabarrus County.
With its recent establishment in Concord, Avelo Airlines has already facilitated travel for over 40,000 passengers, mandating the airline's expansion to keep pace with customer demand, as detailed by WBTV. The new additions to Avelo's fleet—both 737s—will support flights to the recently requested destinations of Daytona Beach and Nashville starting the first week of April.
Newly created positions with Avelo in Concord will span a variety of job categories, including airport customer service roles, ground team members, aircraft technicians, and positions for those eager to work at cruising altitudes such as pilots and flight attendants. Avelo Airlines promises high-quality employment prospects and interested candidates are encouraged to visit their website to apply; "these are high-quality jobs that are coming into this airport," Jim Olsen of Avelo Airlines conveyed to WBTV.
Concord's aviation landscape is poised for an uplift as Avelo Airlines commits to bolstering its service offerings and employment footprint; the new base and routes emerge as a testament to Avelo's growing relationship with the community and the airline's enthusiasm to serve Concord's travelers more effectively.
