In a recent development in a homicide case that has gripped the Southwest District of Baltimore, authorities have made an arrest nearly a year after the incident. According to a press release from the Baltimore Police Department, 42-year-old Tracy Jeter of Baltimore has been charged with the murder of 29-year-old Travon Benson.
The crime occurred on December 14, 2023, when Southwest District officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 200 block of North Payson Street at approximately 8:11 p.m. On arrival, police discovered an unidentified male, later identified as Benson, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts made, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics. Following the investigation, Jeter was apprehended and has since been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and is now facing first-degree murder charges, he is being held without bail.
The Baltimore Police have been working on the case since last year, with homicide detectives taking the lead in the investigation. Jeter was taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was officially charged with first-degree murder.
