The incident, first reported in a Facebook post by California Highway Patrol - Gold Run, indicated that the eastbound lanes were blocked following the event which occurred around 10:00 am.
Authorities were alerted to the situation approximately an hour and a half earlier, at 8:26 a.m., when the big rig ran into trouble. There was, however no immediate word on what precipitated the mishap or on the condition of those involved, raising concerns about the potential for injuries. The report from KCRA provided an initial account of the traffic delays stemming from the accident.
As of the time of reporting, cleanup crews had been dispatched to the scene to handle the wreckage and to alleviate the transit deadlock.
