Boulder County has yet another accolade to boast about, as the county's own, Cynthia Braddock, has garnered the title of 2024 Colorado Assessor of the Year. Her peers, assembled under the Colorado Assessors’ Association, found Braddock's consistent professionalism and leadership to be deserving of this distinction. Her achievements in streamlining processes and weathering the ordeals of fires and pandemics were highlighted during the association's bi-annual meeting in Pueblo, as reported by Boulder County.
The honor, a nod from her fellow assessors statewide, saw Braddock humbly crediting her team's commitment to public service. “I’m humbled to be recognized by my colleagues. This award is a testament to the efforts of my amazing staff. Though it may be my name on the door, it is the staff who daily provide excellent service to the public,” Braddock extolled, as obtained by Boulder County. Serving Boulder County since 1995, her ascent from Chief Deputy Assessor to being elected Assessor exemplifies a commitment that spans decades.
Braddock's commitment to innovation and efficient service within the Assessor's Office has distinguished her tenure. She's overseen transitions to new technologies that have refined property appraisal processes, making the office a model for others in efficiency and effectiveness. By incorporating web forms, mobile software for field appraisers, and enhanced re-appraisal methodologies, Braddock's leadership has not only been about facing upheaval but also about embracing progress in property valuation.
In times of both unforeseen wildfires and a global health crisis, Braddock's decisiveness and compassion presented a reliable front. Her approach to the challenges of a changing landscape in property values across the state served as a beacon, proving her dedication and hard work. The accolade not only highlights her grit but also continues Boulder County's legacy of excellence in this field, with former Boulder County Assessor Cindy Domenico taking home the same honors back in 2003, as noted by Boulder County.
