In a sobering incident occurring on Christmas night in Catawba County, authorities have charged a local man with two counts of attempted first-degree murder following a violent altercation. Brent Allen Dingess, a 32-year-old resident of Mtn Grove Rd, was apprehended after deputies responded to a distress call at around 10:30 p.m., which revealed two critically injured adults; both victims were subsequently airlifted to a hospital where they are undergoing treatment and remain in critical condition, according to the Catawba County Sheriff's Office.
