
A recent investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has led to the arrest of a man in connection with a fatal assault in University City Division, Charlotte. According to official statements released by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the incident took place on Arbor Crest Court where police responded to a domestic violence assault call early Sunday.
Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found 65-year-old Edward Sansone Jr. who had sustained severe injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital for medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, Monday, CMPD confirmed. As the investigation unfolded, 29-year-old Daniel Sansone emerged as a suspect.
Daniel Sansone, the son of the deceased, has been arrested, and he now faces a murder charge. The CMPD has not closed the case yet, the investigation is still active, with detectives piecing together the events that led up to the tragic loss.
Authorities are urging anyone with information relevant to this case to step forward. "Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective," the CMPD appealed in their public statements.
