The City of Cleveland is set to become the fictional Metropolis once again as the teaser trailer for the new "Superman" film, starring David Corenswet, has been released. DC Studios unveiled the much-anticipated preview, which also introduces Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor in this latest adaptation.
Cleveland, no stranger to superhero action, hosted filming last year at iconic locations like Public Square and Progressive Field. This time, Ohio residents might recognize their surroundings in the movie's sweeping cityscapes. Director James Gunn expressed his appreciation for Cleveland in an interview with WKYC, honoring the city as the birthplace of Superman, thanks to creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
The film features a star-studded cast, including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Milly Alcock as Supergirl. Ohio played a significant role in the production, with scenes shot on I-71 and outside the Cincinnati Museum Center, though some of these locations did not appear in the trailer, as noted by WLWT.
The trailer's release made an immediate impact, amassing thousands of views within an hour. According to FOX8, fans quickly took to social media to share their excitement. "Superman" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025, marking Cleveland's third cinematic transformation into Metropolis.
The teaser is available now, giving audiences a glimpse of Metropolis with a distinctive Ohio twist. Watch the full trailer here, courtesy of Warner Bros. and DC Studios.
