The holiday season is here, and with it comes the season of giving. Firefighters 4 Kids, a program with a long-standing tradition of providing for families in need during the holidays, is gearing up for another year of spreading joy. The City of Upper Arlington's official website reported that this Columbus-based initiative had served the community since 1977 when a local firefighter witnessed firsthand the lack of Christmas gifts in a home with young children.
Hosting a toy drive this year is the Upper Arlington Fire Division, setting up a collection at Fire Station 72 on December 14, from 9 am to 3 pm, located at 3861 Reed Road, where residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0 to 12. Hosting a toy drive on the same day, several other donation events around Columbus will happen, including locations such as NBC4 Toy Drive at 2540 Olentangy River Road and Dublin Toy Drive at Station 91 on 6255 Shier Rings Road, to name a few.
Gifting to children who may otherwise go without, Firefighters 4 Kids gathers these toys to lift the spirits of hundreds of families throughout the Columbus area during the festive season. Community participation is paramount, and by donating, individuals can substantially impact creating positive holiday experiences for these kids and their families.
