Marking an exemplary amalgamation of community efforts and policing beyond the call of duty, the Columbus Police Department (CPD) is set to donate to Special Olympics Georgia. The official check presentation, an event bound to galvanize further support and awareness, will be hosted at Rally Point Harley-Davidson on Thursday, December 12, at 10 a.m.
The gesture follows the 5th Annual River City Motorcycle Rodeo, an initiative CPD spearheaded in partnership with Rally Point Harley-Davidson in October. The CPD didn't limit its efforts to adrenaline-pumping motorcycle stunts and exhibitions. It also organized raffles and silent auctions and encouraged community-driven fundraising activities. According to a statement from the Columbus Police Department, the total of the efforts yet to be disclosed will be unveiled during the ceremony.
