
A fatal shooting in north Columbus has left one person dead as local authorities responded to the incident, unfolding in a residential area near Easton. NBC4i reported that the Columbus police were called to the scene at the 3400 block of Nutcreek Court in the Walnut Creek area following reports of gunfire at 4:48 p.m. Thursday. Found suffering from a gunshot wound, the as-yet-unidentified victim was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to their injuries, pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m., the police confirmed.
Further details emerged as another local news outlet, 10TV, reported that a person had been detained in connection with the shooting incident. Officers arriving on the scene at around 4:50 p.m., minutes after shots were reported, discovered the gunshot victim, who was then taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition before their death was announced.
