Last night, Carson, Washington was shaken by a tragic structure fire that claimed the life of one of its residents. The Skamania County Sheriff's Office reported that the blaze, first reported at approximately 9:54 P.M. on Strode Road, drew a swift response from local emergency services, including Skamania County Fire District 1 and Stevenson Fire Department, among others. In a dire effort to rescue those trapped, firefighters immediately initiated to thoroughly search the premises while combating the aggressive flames.
According to a statement obtained by the Skamania County Sheriff's Office, after arriving on scene, emergency crews were able to locate and pull one resident from the burn-stricken structure, promptly providing critical emergency care. Yet, despite their efforts to rapidly respond and the exceptional care rendered on site, the individual ultimately succumbed to the injuries inflicted by the conflagration.
As the remnants of the fire are sifted and analyzed, the Skamania County Sheriff's Office has stated that the incident remains under active investigation.
