Concord Police and the U.S. Marshals collaborated to apprehend a fugitive involved in a domestic violence incident. According to a social media post by the Concord Police Department, on December 9, officers dispatched to a domestic disturbance discovered more than just discord behind closed doors.
Upon arriving at the residence for the domestic violence call, a protective sweep unveiled an illegally modified short-barrel rifle, complete with a high-capacity magazine. The weapon found loaded added a menacing layer to the already volatile situation, especially since the suspect, identified as having previous felony convictions, was nowhere to be found. He had fled, turning the domestic response into a manhunt.
Detectives promptly secured a warrant and joined forces with the United States Marshals Service to track down the accused. The fugitive was spotted in another city, where, officials report, he was apprehended without incident. The coordinated effort showcased the synergy between local police forces and federal agencies when confronting the specter of domestic violence intertwined with illegal firearms possession.
