It's that time of year when Dallas locals and visitors alike can get a taste of merry old festive traditions without, you know, actually time traveling. The Holiday Village at City Park is setting up shop this weekend, and it's all about old-fashioned holiday charm. Picture this: Victorian-era homes, a candlelight trail, and all the jingles and jangles that come with seasonal tunes, as per the City of Dallas.
You can catch this throwback holiday experience from 5 to 9 p.m. on December 7 at City Park, Adults can get in for $5 if they're over 18, kids from 2 to 17 for $3, and the tots under 2, they're in for free.
The Uptown Carolers and Rob Holbert Group will be on deck, not to mention Mariachi Band Cuerdas de Mexico and Unfaded Brass courtesy of the Texas Supremacy of Arts & Music. And because it's not all about adults getting their festive fix, there's plenty for the kiddos too. We're talking free snaps with Santa, storytime with Mrs. Claus, and a photo booth.
The Artisans Market is your one-stop shop for picking up those unique, handcrafted gifts from a slew of local vendors. And while you're basking in the revelry, take a moment to step into the past and explore City Park itself. From the new logo unveiled this year to the hallowed grounds, this slice of Dallas history is a sight to behold amidst the holiday hullabaloo.
