As the holiday season swings into full gear, the City of Denton has announced a schedule of closures and service adjustments that is sure to affect your end-of-year plans. In a recent release, the City of Denton provided details on how public facilities and services will operate or pause to let the Yuletide wash over the community.
The wings of Denton will rest briefly, as the Airport administrative offices are set to close on December 24, 25, and January 1. However, to ensure anyone's holiday travel doesn't come to a complete standstill, the air traffic control tower will remain open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Meanwhile, the airfield stays active around the clock. Should you need to reach Airport Operations during these times, their 24/7 contact is (940) 349-7722.
For those more grounded, be aware that the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center, along with Animal Services, will not be available on December 24, 25, and January 1. Emergencies aside, which should always be directed to 911, Denton non-e's in need of animal-related assistance can still reach out to (940) 349-8181. The Libraries, Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation, and other public facilities follow similar closures, taking a breath on the aforementioned dates.
Reinforcing the weave of our local tapestry, public safety personnel will diligently remain on duty over the holidays. In non-urgent situations, residents can contact the Denton Police Department at (940) 349-8181. In the sphere of home sanitation, don't expect to see curbside collection on Christmas or New Year's Day, a standard shift that sees pick-up delayed by a single day through the week.
Finally, the city's Utilities Customer Service will shutter its doors on December 24 and 25, and once more on January 1. However, any utility service emergencies won't have to wait, with the Utilities dispatch reachable at (940) 349-7000 anytime.
