The DeSoto Police Department has issued a warning about a deceitful social media entity masquerading as the DeSoto Eagles Football team's official page. In their effort to educate and protect the community, the department has outlined several red flags that suggest the page is a scam. According to the DeSoto Police Department, one primary indicator of the page's illegitimacy is the inflated number of likes and follows, which seem highly implausible for a page only days old.
The police department also highlighted that the page's description included the use of a foreign language, which is atypical for an American high school football team's page. Adding to the discrepancies, the phony page has managed to create a facade, attractive to unsuspecting supporters of the DeSoto Eagles. However, the authorities recommend exercising caution and not clicking any posted links before complete verification of the page's authenticity.
In response to the threat posed by this scam page, the DeSoto Police Department is actively encouraging the public to block and report the fraudulent account. Community members are advised to take these actions to aid in the swift removal of the page from the platform. "Please avoid clicking on any links unless you have confirmed that the page is real and legitimate," the DeSoto Police Department stressed in a statement aimed at ensuring residents' online safety.
