Last night, the Chabad Jewish Center of Doral orchestrated a menorah lighting ceremony to observe the second night of Hanukkah, an annual tradition that brings the local Jewish community together. The event, complete with kosher desserts, raffle giveaways, and a message of enduring hope, was reported by Local 10.
A nine-foot menorah was lit by the community in South Florida, with Rabbi Avrohom Brashevitzky sharing the meaning of the holiday. "Light is so powerful that just a small candle can push away a lot of darkness," he explained in a statement obtained by Local 10. Everyone was encouraged to spread light by committing to good deeds during the festive season.
The message of triumph and unity was shared on Councilwoman Digna Cabral's Facebook post, "Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Hanukkah!"
