Last Friday, the Duncanville Police Department attended the 27th Annual Tree of Angels® Ceremony, an event dedicated to honoring victims of homicide and violence. According to a social media post from the Duncanville Police Department, the Dallas County Crime Victims’ Council hosted the event. It took place at First United Methodist Church in Richardson, TX.
Focusing on reflection and remembrance, the Tree of Angels® Ceremony supports those affected by tragic violence in the community. As described by the Police Department's post, the ceremony is a powerful reminder of the strength within our community and the importance of standing together.
Marking its 27th year, the Tree of Angels has become a symbol of the community's commitment to never forgetting those they have lost and offering support for those who still feel the impact of violent crimes. The event was rounded out with symbols and gestures that deeply resonate with families and individuals still on the path to healing. Their commitment marked it, and the Duncanville Police Department's participation reinforces the community's shared bonds in the face of hardship.
