El Paso Police are actively investigating a late-night shooting in the Northeast part of the city. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 21, just before midnight, at North Mountain Village Apartments on Diana Drive. According to KTSM, the address of the shooting is 9435 Diana Dr., and the Crimes Against Persons Unit has taken the lead on the investigation.
Tragedy struck when a male victim was transported to the hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. The victim's identity has yet to be disclosed as officers await to notify the next of kin. "A male was transported to a hospital where he died," Officer Adrian Cisneros said, as obtained by El Paso Times. As of now, the police have made no arrests in connection with the incident.
Officials responded to the scene at North Mountain Village Apartments which is located at 9435 Diana Drive, near Dyer Street, following a call about the shooting at approximately 11:36 p.m. KVIA reports that the investigation continued into Sunday, as detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Unit combed through evidence and worked to piece together the events that led to this fatal encounter.
