The man had been tending to his vehicle, which was stopped on the westbound side near the Clearview Expressway, when the incident occurred at approximately 5:05 a.m., per details provided by the NYPD. The force of the impact from the semi-truck caused the parked car to strike the man, who was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by Gothamist.
