
A 72-year-old man was the victim of a sudden and unprovoked attack in a Manhattan subway station yesterday. According to ABC7NY, the incident took place around 12:15 p.m. on the F train platform at the 34th Street Herald Square station. The elderly man was forcibly shoved onto the tracks by an unidentified assailant.
Witnesses at the scene quickly sprang into action to assist the victim back onto the platform before any trains could approach. As a result of the attack, the man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, which included a head laceration and reported soreness. Despite the jarring nature of the event, the victim is said to be in stable condition. The New York Police Department is actively searching for the suspect, who managed to hastily flee the scene post-assault.
