An 82-year-old woman, Phyllis Meyers, was the victim of a fatal fire in Colerain Township over the weekend, as identified by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office; the fire took place in a mobile home on Stahley Drive, according to FOX19.
The Colerain Township Department of Fire & EMS received a call concerning the fire at approximately 4 p.m. It arrived at the scene within minutes, where they found a working fire with visible flames outside of the trailer, and after extinguishing it, found the deceased individual along with three cats; further detailing the response, WLWT reports that the fire was confined to the single home.
While the precise cause of the fire has yet to be disclosed, the catastrophe did not extend beyond Meyers' residence, safeguarding the adjacent structures within the tight-knit residential park of several mobile homes, as described by a statement obtained by WCPO.
Battalion Chief Ryan Frank addressed the incident by confirming both the loss of Meyers and additionally the three cats found perished inside the home, emergency crews having managed to suppress the fire promptly to prevent it from victimizing neighboring houses within the community, with this information also reported by WCPO.
