Authorities in Monroe County are actively investigating a stabbing incident that occurred earlier this week. According to a press release by The Detroit News, the confrontation, which began as a family dispute in Erie Township, resulted in one person being wounded.
Police were called to a residence on the 10600 block of South Dixie Highway around 8 p.m. Monday where they discovered a woman with a laceration to her hand. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office quickly managed to arrest a 24-year-old male suspect from Erie, who is now held at Monroe County Jail, as reported by 13abc. The name of the suspect has yet to be publicly released, as he awaits formal arraignment.
As the case moves forward, Deputy Garret Moore along with Deputy Melissa Henderson from the Uniformed Services Division will continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation. The Michigan State Police, Erie Township Fire Department, and Monroe Community Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
