A man sustained major injuries in a vehicle accident on Sunday morning at a Fairfield freeway intersection, after his pickup truck overturned, according to authorities.
As reported by ABC10, around 8:30 a.m., the man, estimated to be around 40 years old, while traveling westbound on Interstate 80 failed to navigate the curve of the road transitioning to southbound Interstate 680, and subsequently collided with the right wall, which resulted in the truck overturning sliding against the rail and ultimately, coming to a standstill, this information comes via the California Highway Patrol, with CHP spokesman Officer Garrett Pumphrey underscoring that the crash is still under scrutiny, though a DUI seemed unlikely.
Concurrently, the CBS Sacramento coverage indicated that the Fairfield Fire Department was summoned somewhat later around 9 a.m., whereupon arriving, they discovered the truck lying on its side on the transition ramp between westbound Highway 80 and southbound Highway 680, firefighters then acted to extricate the trapped individual who was eventually admitted to the hospital with grave injuries.
