Two individuals were saved from a residential fire on Christmas night in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Officials state that the inferno, which began approximately at 10:30 p.m., saw the homeowner's daughter and her husband, who were temporarily residing in a camper near the house, act to save her mother, as reported by NBC Boston. The homeowner's daughter noticed the flames engulfing her mother's residence and alerted her husband, who helped facilitate the elder's escape.
Alongside the mother, a second individual was successfully extracted from the perilous situation without sustaining injuries. The fire, originating in a bedroom, was primarily confined to the second story of the house. In response, mutual aid from surrounding fire departments was promptly deployed, not only to tackle the blaze but to maintain coverage at Yarmouth's fire stations, as per a report by Cape Cod. Despite the potential risk, no firefighters incurred injuries during the incident.
Medical evaluations were conducted on three individuals, which included the mother, the second occupant, and the son-in-law who entered the burning structure to lead the rescue efforts. "All three are expected to be OK," according to officials cited by NBC Boston. Meanwhile, the conflagration's origins are still under investigation, and the American Red Cross has extended assistance to those displaced by the fire.
