A tragic incident unfolded in Racine on the evening of Friday when Dwayne Carr, aged 44, was hit by a vehicle and later died from the injuries sustained in the incident. The Racine Police Department reported that the event occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Memorial Dr. near Oak St, as reported by CBS 58.
According to CBS 58, the man was found laying between two parked vehicles by the curb. Despite being promptly transported to a local hospital, the man, identified by family members as Carr, did not survive his injuries. A 19-year-old woman contacted dispatch shortly after the incident and informed them that she had hit someone in the vicinity of Memorial and Oak.
The woman was later escorted by the police. Details around the case are still emerging as the investigation continues; the Racine Police Department has not released an update on the resulting legal proceedings, if any. Tresia Funderburg, Carr's mother, has been left to treasure memories of her son. "I just want to hold my baby.
