A tragic scene unfolded in Modesto as a fatal collision claimed the life of a mobility scooter rider yesterday. According to the Modesto Police Department’s social media post, the accident occurred shortly before 5 PM on E. Briggsmore Avenue, just east of Coffee Road.
Initial reports reveal that the mobility scooter and the vehicle were both traveling westbound on Briggsmore Avenue when the incident took place. Tragically, despite the swift response and life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, the scooter rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved was present when officers arrived and has been cooperative with the investigation, providing statements and necessary information to the police as required.
The Modesto Police Department has not released the names of the individuals involved at this moment as the investigation is ongoing.
