Tragedy struck West Sierra Avenue in Santa Rosa last night when a motorcyclist suffered a fatal accident. According to a social media post from CHP - Santa Rosa, the crash occurred around 5:35pm, just east of Grove Street.
Sonoma County Fire responders and the Santa Rosa CHP were quickly at the scene where the motorcyclist, who faced significant injuries, was initially treated and then transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Sadly, the individual was declared dead upon arrival. The preliminary investigation suggests that the motorcyclist, traveling eastbound at a rate deemed unsafe, lost control and veered into the opposite lane before crashing on the northern shoulder of the avenue.
