A devastating incident occurred on South Chambers Road in Aurora when a vehicle struck a pedestrian, leading to fatal consequences. The Aurora Police Department is currently delving into the circumstances surrounding the tragic collision that unfolded Thursday night just before the hour struck 10, as reported by KDVR.
Near the intersection south of East Iliff Avenue, first responders arrived on a scene where the harsh realities of life and death intersect on our city streets. Soon after the crash, the victim, whose identity is yet to be disclosed until formal proceedings by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office take place, was transported to the hospital and sadly did not survive the injuries sustained, as mentioned by The Denver Gazette.
The driver involved, who was behind the wheel of a sedan, remained present at the site as the aurora of blue and red lights flashed chaotic against the night sky. Police officials have indicated that the driver is cooperating fully with the investigative efforts. Despite this cooperation and the clarity that sometimes comes when all pieces lay bare, no charges are anticipated to be filed against the driver, per The Denver Post.
