The incident occurred at Baitus Samee Mosque located at 1333 Spears Road in Houston on August 14, with a man documented by surveillance footage arriving in a distinctively damaged, silver Honda Accord. After parking the vehicle at a nearby gas station, he proceeded to deface the mosque compound's walls with an offensive phrase in Urdu – a language widespread in South Asia, and Pakistan's national language, along with English. In a bid to bring the perpetrator to justice, the FBI has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information that could lead to an identification, arrest, and conviction.
Specific details regarding the suspect and vehicle were shared by the FBI, describing the individual as a man wearing a red beanie, long-sleeve plaid shirt, and dark pants. The Honda Accord he used has noticeable damage to the front bumper, hood, and passenger rear quarter panel.
