
Residents in East Denton were confronted with a significant structure fire in the 1500 block of Choctaw last Saturday. A social media update from the City of Denton Fire Department reported that the blaze was causing a considerable volume of smoke in the vicinity, which was visible from the Square. Firefighting units were dispatched to the scene to swiftly begin fire attack efforts.
The response to the blaze was coordinated quickly, with the City of Denton advising locals to avoid the area due to the severity of the smoke. The City of Denton Fire Department shared on Facebook informed the public, stating, "STRUCTURE FIRE in the 1500 block of Choctaw in east Denton producing a lot of smoke in the area. Crews on scene making fire attack." This was also confirmed in a collaborative effort involving the City of Denton Police Department and Denton Scanner to manage the situation and keep the community informed.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or the cause of the fire. Investigations are set to commence once the scene is secured and deemed safe for investigators.
