
An early morning fire at an apartment complex in Live Oak has rendered five families homeless just as the holiday season peaks. The blaze, which began at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, engulfed a unit at the Meadows apartment complex, located at 14001 Oak Meadows. Officials from the Live Oak Fire Department reported that firefighters on the scene quickly subdued the fiery outbreak that was visibly bursting from a balcony door, as reported by KENS 5.
The incident, which did not result in any injuries, has nevertheless caused significant damage, leading to displacement of the residents. According to KSAT, emergency crews are joining forces with the apartment's management and the American Red Cross to provide relief to those affected.
The cause of the fire remains a mystery as investigators continue to comb through the charred remnants. With the festive spirit overshadowed by this tragedy, local organizations and authorities are stepping in to assist. KENS 5 reported that the fire department is coordinating with various groups to ensure aid and accommodations are offered to the displaced residents.
