A Florida Highway Patrol trooper found themselves in pursuit of a motorcyclist dressed as Santa Claus and riding a white motorcycle with blue trim, this individual was caught on camera going 120 mph on a motorcycle last Saturday night in Citrus County. According to WTSP, the suspect was seen weaving dangerously in and out of traffic, prompting the dashcam-equipped officer to initiate a traffic stop.

The dashcam footage, shared by multiple news outlets, shows the Santa impersonator signaling to turn right before suddenly swerving to quickly enter and exit a gas station. FHP said in a chase that could barely be believed to unfold, "The sleigh must be in the shop, but last night Mr. Claus didn’t pause for any cause." For anybody with information about this high-speed Santa, FHP has requested that tips be called into *FHP (*347), as reported by WFLA.

The chase occurred at approximately 9 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 486 and Brandywine Terrace. Despite an attempted traffic stop, the festive fugitive managed to evade the trooper after a brief pursuit, which led through a gas station forecourt and back onto the roadway. "The man on the motorcycle was wearing a Santa costume and driving "in a reckless manner," going over 120 mph while weaving in and out of traffic," FHP remarked, as per ABC Action News.

Law enforcement continues to seek the identity of this mysterious "Santa" and has released the footage in hopes that the public may be able to provide assistance. "Perhaps Santa was running late to deliver presents — or maybe someone was using his likeness to get away from law enforcement," WTSP suggested, reflecting the mixed sentiments of whimsy and concern provoked by the bizarre event.
