Last Monday, former pastor James McMillan was arrested once more; this time, he's accused of sending a nude photo to a Kansas teenager, as reported by News 4. This incident comes after a previous arrest where McMillan faced allegations of being sexually inappropriate with a minor under 16. News 4's investigation revealed that McMillan served as a pastor in at least two churches, which he left under ambiguous circumstances years ago. The details surrounding his departures have not been publicized.
The disturbing allegations against McMillan center around an incident in March 2023. According to court documents, a teen from Bel Aire, Kansas and her father reported to the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics officer that McMillan sent the offensive image, more than a year after the initial police report was filed. The father, speaking to News 4, described McMillan using his son's Snapchat account to contact his daughter due to her privacy settings. After accepting McMillan's friend request, the girl received an unsolicited nude photo from him.
Working collaboratively with local law enforcement, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Human Trafficking Unit charged McMillan with solicitation of obscene pictures to a minor, following the discovery that he used his cellphone to commit these actions, detailed an OBN spokesman in a report by OKC Fox.
While McMillan had previously bonded out after his November arrest, the recent charges kept him detained with a bond set at $450,000. In an interview with KOCO, a former church member expressed his longstanding concerns, saying "It just destroys the lives of a lot of people." The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office has indicated that there may be more victims, urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
