A former Riverside County Sheriff’s employee was arrested on charges of kidnapping and stalking, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. The suspect, Alexander Vanny, had been terminated from his position following allegations of sexual assault. His arrest on Thursday followed a new claim of him stalking an adult female, reported on November 27, 2024.
The investigation was handled by the Riverside Sheriff's Special Victims Unit, given the suspect’s previous employment with the law enforcement agency. The unit’s inquiry resulted in evidence that supports additional felony offenses committed by the suspect. According to a public statement released by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, Vanny is currently being held at Cois Byrd Detention Center. The charges listed are kidnapping, stalking, and other related felonies.
This case remains an active investigation, and further details about the incident have not been disclosed publicly. Riverside Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information relevant to the case to reach out to Lead Investigator Katherine Bermudez of the Special Victims Unit.
