The streets of Fort Worth are a little safer today, thanks to police efforts leading to the arrest of suspect Roderic Dennis in a series of robberies. The 45-year-old was apprehended by the Fort Worth Police Department's Robbery Unit after a string of aggravated robberies that had the city on high alert for weeks.
According to a social media post from the Fort Worth Police Department, detectives received multiple leads from members of the public that pointed to Dennis as the primary suspect. The tips led to his location and subsequent arrest for two counts of Aggravated Robbery and three counts of Robbery. To add to the gravity of his situation, it was also revealed that Mr. Dennis had violated his bond from two previous Robbery warrants issued by the TCSO in April.
The connection between Dennis and the recent crimes grew clearer with the concerted effort of the community, who came together in an impressive show of unity and determination. In a rare but welcome fashion, the Fort Worth Police Department expressed gratitude towards the community, recognizing the critical role residents played in bringing the culprit to justice. "The Fort Worth Police Department would like to thank the community for assisting and for the trust and unity we all share in wanting to make Fort Worth a safer place to live," the Department stated in their announcement.
