Last night, a house fire in Spring Grove Village displaced four residents and swiftly engaged multiple fire crews in response efforts. The Cincinnati Fire Department was called to the 700 block of McMaken Avenue shortly after 9 p.m., where they encountered a "heavily involved" brick home with fire, as Assistant Chief Matt Flagler told FOX19 NOW. Efforts to subdue the flames took about 45 minutes, with the fire escalating to a neighboring house.
Despite the quick spread of the fire, two residents from the original house were rescued rapidly, and by luck, the occupants of the second affected home were not present. Crews, having extinguished the fire, searched for the house's second residents and had left no injuries reported, as per the Cincinnati Fire Department.
An investigation into the incident has begun, but initial assessments suggest the fire was accidental. WLWT cites investigation crews are still determining the cause. While material damage is apparent, the department reported zero fatalities or physical harm, with recovery support engaged for those affected.
The Red Cross has been engaged in relief efforts, gearing up to assist the displaced, two adults and one child, who now face the challenge of rebuilding their lives in the fire's aftermath. While local authorities tackle the roots of the blaze, "no one was injured in the fire," according to the Cincinnati Fire Department via Local12 News, offering some solace amid the chaos.
