Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of FusionFest in downtown Orlando, 24 individuals took a pivotal step in their lives as they were sworn in as US citizens. The new citizens hailed from a diverse mix of countries, including The Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, and beyond, proudly joining the nation's fabric. US District Judge Roy Dalton had the honor of administering the oath, expressing his continued enjoyment of welcoming new members to the American family, saying, "Well, there really aren't very many perks of office that I enjoy more, frankly, than having the opportunity to welcome new citizens to the United States. It never gets old, you know?" as reported by FOX35 Orlando.
Among the new Americans was Rogerio Tutti, a concert pianist from Brazil, who, despite feeling American for quite some time, said, "Now to officially be American is really happy," capturing the sentiment of achieving a longstanding dream as shared with ClickOrlando. At the same time, his compatriot Andre Quatela, reflecting on his 15-year journey from a dubious youth unsure of his prospects to the affirmation of citizenship, echoed a sentiment from years past that "Everything is possible" and now works for Delta Airlines and cherishes America as a safe country for his family's future, according to ClickOrlando.
FusionFest stands as a testament to the eclectic cultural landscape of central Florida, with over a hundred cultures showcased through food, fashion, and music; the citizenship ceremony, taking place during this festival, added a poignant dimension to the celebration of diversity. So citizenship fits right in," in a statement obtained by FOX35 Orlando.
