Meta is facing technical difficulties, leading to disruptions across its social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. According to a CW39 report, user-reported issues on the outage tracking site Downdetector reached over 90,000 for Facebook, more than 60,000 for Instagram, and over 20,000 for Messenger and WhatsApp combined as of this afternoon.

The issues appeared to be global in scope affecting users from countries like Brazil, Argentina, and several European nations, as noted in the same CW39 coverage. Downdetector showed that the core complaints for Instagram and Threads pertained to app functionality.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp users struggled predominantly with message sending capability and Messenger users faced hurdles logging in—with some exceptions services resumed within the hour as noted by a Fox 26 Houston report.

Meta's communication efforts have not gone unnoticed, with an Instagram statement pinpointing the crux of the inconvenience: "We're aware that a technical issue is impacting some users' ability to access our apps," as per Fox 26 Houston.

In a similar post by Meta itself which was further elaborated as per CW39, stating the company is "working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and are sorry for any inconvenience."
