Grand Prairie is pushing its boundaries to the south with the ambitious inception of Goodland, an extensive master-planned community set to house 50,000 residents. According to the City of Grand Prairie's official news release, the city's recent annexation has enlarged its scope by over 1,500 acres, paving the way for a development that aims to meld the quietude of Texan hamlets with the appeal of urban comforts.
The Mayor of Grand Prairie, Ron Jensen, described the expansion as a significant step in our city's development, acknowledging that, unlike their neighboring cities, Grand Prairie has the advantage of developing territory to the south, ensuring growth and prosperity. Provident, a Dallas-based real estate development firm behind Goodland, plans over 15,000 diversified homes amidst nature to foster community and preserve local ecosystems.
Goodland's strategic blueprint emphasizes many amenities designed to cater to the residents' needs, including, but not limited to, retail and dining establishments, educational institutions, sports facilities, and a slate of public and private venues. Residents of the community will indulge in a life where convenience is not compromised for small-town charm, given its central location within a mere 45-minute drive of the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, which opens doors to numerous job opportunities.
A critical component of the infrastructural framework will be the Goodland Parkway, expected to be inaugurated in December 2025. This project aims to connect the burgeoning sector to Grand Prairie, enhancing accessibility.
