The Hawai'i Island Police Department is asking the public for help in finding two men who escaped from the Hawai'i Community Correctional Center Hale Nani Facility. Clyde T. Loa, 31, is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds, while Kawai J. Pomroy, 41, is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 260 pounds. Both have black hair and brown eyes and have been missing since their escape on December 13.

This ongoing manhunt took a turn for the police, capturing another inmate, Joseph Fernandez, last Wednesday, who was found lounging at a residence in the Hawaiʻi Ocean View Estates Subdivision after their escape. However, after they escaped, both Loa and Pomroy, Loa who have black hair and Pomroy with brown eyes, were allegedly sighted flitting through the Districts of Puna, Kaʻū, and Kona, leaving the authorities on a persistent chase.

The Hawaii Police Department is warning the public not to approach Loa and Pomroy. If you see them or have any information about their whereabouts, contact Detective Donovan Kohara at (808) 960-3118, Detective David Poʻohina at (808) 961-2385, or the police department's non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.

For those who want to remain anonymous, tips can be made through Crime Stoppers by calling (808) 961-8300. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to the capture of the escapees, and Crime Stoppers does not record calls or use caller ID. It's also important to note that hiding Loa and Pomroy could lead to criminal charges.
