The University of Hawaii women's basketball team fell to Long Beach State in overtime last Saturday, with a final score of 73-69. The loss ended their 13-game home winning streak in Big West games at SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center, as reported by Spectrum Local News.

Long Beach State defeated Hawaii in a tough game, with Hawaii struggling despite a strong performance from guard Lily Wahinekapu, who scored 20 points, including 7 in overtime. Hawaii’s coach, Laura Beeman, said, "They exposed a lot of things that I think had been creeping up on us, but it definitely feels doubly worse because of the expectations of the girls." The team had trouble with missed free throws and transition defense. Wahinekapu also mentioned, "We need to lock in better," according to Spectrum Local News and Star Advertiser.

Long Beach State’s Savannah Tucker scored 23 points, including six in overtime, to help her team win. Patricia Chung added 12 points, and JaQuoia Jones-Brown made key plays in the final moments of regulation to force overtime. This win came after a heavy loss to Michigan. Hawaii, on the other hand, will look to recover from this setback with upcoming nonconference games, including one against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on December 16, before returning to Big West play after the new year, as stated by Star Advertiser.
