The spill occurred after an 18-wheeler crashed into a barrier wall, leading to the closure of all southbound lanes at CR 57, near Highway 6 in Brazoria County. A heavy truck caused both shoulders and all main lanes of the highway to be blocked. Local authorities quickly rerouted traffic to nearby roads to ease congestion.
