A high-speed chase across Grady County culminated in an officer-involved shooting incident yesterday afternoon, as confirmed by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI). The chase, which began near Lindsay when a vehicle, reported to be red in color, was stolen, escalated to involve multiple law enforcement agencies before reaching its conclusion in a field outside of Alex, near Hawkins Road and County Road 1410, as per information from KOCO.

The suspect, who has been identified as a tribal member, was the sole occupant of the stolen vehicle, leading law enforcement on a pursuit that began around 2 p.m. yesterday, said officials with OSBI, and sustained no injuries to other people or officers during the incident according to a statement obtained by Fox25, while also providing detail on the significant efforts by law enforcement to halt the vehicle, and the eventual use of life-saving measures by them on the suspect following the shooting.

OSBI's Public Information Manager, Hunter McKee, highlighted the complexity and scale of the investigation that awaits, intimating a need to speak with all involved agencies and thoroughly survey the expansive scene to, "find out exactly and piece together what had exactly happened," as quoted in the Fox25 report.

The suspect, whose condition has been a matter of some concern following their transportation to a local hospital via helicopter, was shot by a deputy from the Grady County Sheriff's' Office, yet there has been no official update on the suspect's status, according to a report by News 9. The deputy involved in the shooting did not sustain any injuries during the confrontation, the Grady County Sheriff's Office stated.
