
Three people are in custody after a high-speed chase in Livingston County last Sunday. A sheriff's deputy spotted a car on I-96 near Grand River Avenue that matched the description of a stolen vehicle from East Lansing. When the deputy tried to stop the car, the driver sped off, reaching speeds over 120 mph to avoid capture, as stated by ClickOnDetroit.
According to the Livingston County MI Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, the chase ended near Mason Road in Howell when the vehicle tried to avoid stop sticks, swerved off the freeway, and crashed into a concrete support under an overpass. Three people inside, all allegedly armed with handguns, were quickly arrested, bringing the pursuit to a close.
A 24-year-old Lansing resident is facing multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, and operating while intoxicated. Two companions, aged 19 and 20, are expected to be charged with carrying a concealed weapon. All three were reportedly armed with handguns. The Sheriff's Office has not yet released the identities of the passengers, and the investigation is ongoing, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
