An altercation between a Holland police officer and a suspect left the officer injured. The incident happened on Thursday, around 4 a.m. at the Herrick District Library, as reported by Holland Sentinel.
Two officers from the Holland Department of Public Safety approached a man sleeping on the library steps, who was wanted on several warrants. According to a WOODTV report, the 30-year-old suspect became combative. During the struggle, the officers tried to arrest him, but one officer injured his shoulder.
The officer was treated at Holland Hospital and referred to a specialist for a shoulder injury. The suspect, who has not been named, was arrested and taken to jail on charges of resisting arrest and other warrants. The officer’s condition has not been updated.
