With the holiday season in full swing, Holly Springs reminds residents that holiday waste, including cardboard boxes, can be recycled. An update on Holly Springs's website encourages recycling of most holiday-related items.
The town's waste contractor, GFL, allows residents to place up to seven additional cardboard boxes (no larger than 3x3 feet) beside the recycling cart on collection day. This includes bubble wrap, packing paper, and gift wrap without metallic elements, glitter, or velvet, as well as regular recyclables like glass bottles, jars, and cans.
Some holiday items, like wires, cords, broken glass, dishes, aluminum foil, light bulbs, and Styrofoam, can't be picked up curbside. Residents will need to find alternative disposal options for these materials.
