Fans gathered to take photos and get autographs from McIngvale, who's recovering well. According to KHOU 11, McIngvale was eager to get back to work, sharing his doctor's advice: "Go back to work." McIngvale responded, "You're my kind of guy."
McIngvale expressed his excitement about being back, telling KHOU 11, "Feels great. My life for 43 years centered around the Houston community and our great customers." He added that he loves "Making community a better place for all of us and putting some smiles on some kiddos' faces." One supporter, who has seen his impact, said, "Great guy, he's done a lot for the city."
