Houston's Christmas Tree Recycling Program is now open. From December 26 to January 24, 2025, residents can drop off their live Christmas trees at any of the 22 designated recycling locations. This program is a partnership between the City of Houston Solid Waste Management and the Parks & Recreation Department.

To recycle your Christmas tree, remove all decorations and make sure it’s not flocked, painted, or artificial. You can place it curbside for pickup, and it will be turned into compost or used in other green projects, according to the City of Houston.

Join us for the 34th Annual Treecycling Event on January 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the City Hall Reflection Pool. Watch as the city's tree is recycled for use in local parks. For more info, visit the Solid Waste Management website, follow them on social media, or call 3-1-1, as reported by the City of Houston.
