
Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that injured a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman on the service road of U.S. Highway 290. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. near 10450 Northwest Freeway, according to the City of Houston.
Marco Antonio Gonzalez Garcia, 25, has been arrested and is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police responded to a shooting at a business parking lot, where they found two victims with gunshot wounds in a vehicle. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition. Investigators say Gonzalez fired at the victims and fled. Officers later located the suspect’s vehicle and detained three people at a nearby apartment complex, as reported by the City of Houston.
Evidence and witness statements led to the identification of Gonzalez Garcia. "Investigators consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Gonzalez Garcia was charged and arrested for his role in the shooting," said Detective M. Bellahna. Gonzalez Garcia’s booking photo has been released. The case is listed under incident number 174368824. No further details about the victims or the motive are available at this time.
