Houston police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning on Guinevere Street. According to a report released by the Houston Police Department, the accident took place around 5 a.m. near the 8500 block of Guinevere Street.
The victim, a 62-year-old man, has not yet been identified publicly as his next of kin has not been notified. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro, and Officer J. Trevino are leading the investigation. They reported that the man was driving a silver Honda Accord westbound and, failed to stay in his lane before the crash.
The circumstances leading up to the accident suggest that after veering off the road, the man's vehicle struck the median. The car then continued onto the sidewalk and fatally collided with a tree.
Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, where they pronounced the man deceased. As the authorities work to piece together the chain of events that led to the tragedy. The investigation remains ongoing.
